Timeline of Jack
Everything started in late 2022 when I had the urge to make a mod for a VR game I really enjoy playing. (Bonelab, Stress Level Zero)
I realized that Bonelab had built-in mod support from a game development software called Unity. A pipeline called the Marrow SKD would allow that to happen.
After tons of trial and error, I was devastated at how I hadn't gotten anywhere with this program. Everything was overly complex and the code wasn't working. This is a picture of an error I got in my code because I didn't know I needed only a semicolon (';') to fix it:
2022
-When it all started-
Later in the year, my family and I found ourselves in South Padre Island, Texas for Christmas. I met a friend and told him I code games. We started to plan out a game similar to Choo-Choo Charles, a recent hit-indie-game that we admired.
We sadly scrapped the project, but in the end, it was the experience of learning and growing in a way that made me want to continue making games. 2023 was a very good year for me and my game development and you're about to find out why!
2023
It's a new year! We returned to Canada from our year-long motorhome trip. I set up in my grandparent's basement apartment until we figured things out with our lives.
I had gotten in touch with an indie developer who made his own multiplayer shooter on Steam. We decided to collaborate and add a potential campaign and DLC to his game. Working along side him made me realize how being an indie dev in the world of marketing and success rates. Overall, it was a very great experience to have and I'm grateful for the connection.
Later on in the year, I was exposed to more and more vital experiences as I slowly learned more and more things. Every day I kept learning. I was eager to get on my computer in the morning to continue working on my projects and experiment with new things that my mom would yell at me to get off the computer because I was on there for too long.
On April 11, I had an idea to really get going on an indie dev company based around my online presence. I love ducks and I plan on owning one in the future, so I decided to name the company after the natural habitat of my favorite animal. A hub or habitat of games that make an ecosystem or community. I thought the deeper meaning of the name
From that day on, as a team of indie developers, we are trying to revolutionize the gaming industry and we are very grateful for visiting my website and we hope you enjoy our content!
